Pocket Shop

On December 23rd, Amazon.com sent me an email demanding that I stop using their search service in conjunction with this application. This is despite the fact that I fully described Pocket Shop when I applied for access to the search service, and Amazon approved that application. The email I received included no appeal process regarding this decision, so there's nothing I can do at this point. Sorry for the inconvenience, but thank to the thousands of you who downloaded and used Pocket Shop. Perhaps now's a great time to try out some other fine stores like Buy.com, Borders.com or Target.com!

According to numbers provided by Apple, 2,244 savvy shoppers in 43 different countries downloaded Pocket Shop during its first week of release! And that's before it even supports international Amazon stores! (coming soon in version 1.1)

Pocket Shop version 1.1 was sent to Apple today for review. New features of this version include:

• International store support. Pocket Shop nows allows you to search Amazon.co.uk, Amazon.ca, Amazon.fr and Amazon.de as easily as Amazon.com.
• Better handling of Kindle books. Kindle purchases can now be started with just the click of a button from the Quick View screen.
• Search bar autocorrection can be turned off in Settings.
• Numerous bug fixes and optimizations to prevent application crashes, particularly in Full Details view.

Pocket Shop has been released in the App Store, just in time for Black Friday!
